Omar Kutayba Alghanim

Chairman

 

Omar Alghanim was elected as the Chairman of Gulf Bank in March 2013. Previously, he held the position of Deputy Chairman after his election in 2012 and he was serving as Board Member since 2009. Omar is also the Chief Executive Officer of Alghanim Industries, a privately owned company with business operations in 40 countries world-wide. He joined the company in 2002 as General Manager of the Technology Division with full P&L responsibility. Based on the division's performance, he was promoted to Executive Director in 2004 with broader management responsibilities. After leading the successful turnaround of the company by rejuvenating the management team, Omar was again promoted to the position of CEO, a position he has been holding since 2005. Prior to joining Alghanim Industries, Omar worked in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley in London where he was involved in a range of financial advisory transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring and corporate finance. Omar has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from New York University and MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Ali Morad Yusuf Behbehani

Deputy Chairman

 

Ali Behbehani was elected as Deputy Chairman of Gulf Bank in March 2013. He joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in April 2009. Ali started his career by engaging in various departments within the Behbehani Group. In 1977 he became General Manager of Carrier - Kuwait. In 1987, he was made Vice President of the Behebhani Group where he orchestrated major joint ventures with Carrier and Ericsson after which he became a Board Member. He is currently the President of Morad Yousuf Behbehani Group of Companies as well as a Director of Kuwait Insurance Company and National Industries Company. Ali studied at a boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland, and has a BA in English Literature from Kuwait University.

Bader Nasser Al Khorafi

Board Member

 

Bader Nasser Al-Kharafi joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in March 2012. Bader is a member of the Executive Committee of M. A. Al-Kharafi & Sons Co.WLL, a family owned conglomerate with diversified activities. Bader is currently serving as Chairman and Managing Director of Gulf Cable & Electrical Industries. He is also on the executive committee of Zain Group. Bader holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kuwait University.

Omar Hamad Al Essa

Board Member

 

Omar Hamad Al-Essa joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in April 2009. Prior to that, Omar was a Lawyer at Hamad Yousuf Al Essa Law Firm. He became the Director of the Development and Training Center and Secretary of the Kuwait Bar Association during 2004-2005. He also held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Bar Association. Omar is the Founding Member of Ma'an Family Development Society and the Founding Member of the Kuwait Transparency Society. He is currently the Head of the Kuwaitization Taskforce of the Restructuring Program. Omar graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kuwait University in 1985.

Jasem Mustafa Boodai

Board Member

 

Jasem Mustafa Boodai joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in March 2012. Jasem is a prominent businessman in Kuwait and the GCC. He is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of Integrated Holding Company, KCSC Kuwait and is a Board Member of the Kuwait Insurance Company.

Sayer Bader Al-Sayer

Board Member

 

Sayer Bader Al-Sayer joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in March 2012. Sayer holds several directorships locally and abroad and is representing a family business on various Boards in the USA, Europe and the Middle East. Sayer was born and educated in Kuwait and is a professional Aeronautical Engineer.

Ahmed Abdel Latif Al Hamad

Board Member

 

Ahmed Abdellatif Al-Hamad joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in March 2012. Ahmed is the Deputy Chairman & Managing Director of KCIC. He spent more than 15 years in the investment management field, first at Morgan Stanley in New York and subsequently at PRIMECORP, Gulf International Bank (GIB) and The Capital Partnership in London. Ahmed holds a BA from Princeton University.

Farouk Bastaki

Board Member

 

Farouk Ali Akbar Bastaki joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in April 2009. Prior to joining Gulf Bank, Farouk was the Chairman of Sassoon Holdings in Singapore and St Martins Property Corporation in the UK. He is currently on the Board of the National Technology Enterprises Company. Farouk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami.

Bader Abdulmohsen El-Jeaan

Board Member

 

Bader El-Jeaan joined Gulf Bank as a Board Member in March 2013. Bader is a Director of The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset management company. Since joining Carlyle, Bader has been involved in the execution of several of The Carlyle Group's investments in the Middle East including: Medical Park, General Lighting Company, Alamar Foods, Bahcesehir Schools and Penti. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of General Lighting Company and Alamar Foods Company. Prior to joining The Carlyle Group, Bader was with Agility Logistics, Shearman & Sterling, and the Kuwait Investment Authority in London. Bader holds a B.A. and M.A. in Law, with honors, from Oxford University and an A.B. in Economics, with honors, from Harvard University.
