Gulf Bank Sponsors Volleyball Tournament
Kuwait, April 17, 2008: Gulf Bank’s commitment to supporting major sports activities in Kuwait has been exhibited once again by its sponsorship of the Hilton Volleyball Tournament, which took place recently at the Hilton Kuwait Resort.
The full day’s event program of fun and exercises included a Beach DJ and BBQ buffet. The tournament also had various competitive games between several teams with the categories open for both Hilton Lifestyle members and non- members.
Gulf Bank’s General Manager for Human Resources, Mr. Surour Alsamerai said: "Gulf Bank is proud to be supporting Hilton’s sports initiatives in promoting athleticism while displaying talent and camaraderie. It is part of the Bank's ongoing community responsibility to support athletic events and activities in order to help encourage a balance between a healthy lifestyle and healthy competition here in Kuwait."
In February, Gulf Bank had also sponsored Hilton Kuwait Resort’s successful Tennis tournament in their newly refurbished courts. The competition included men’s and women’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles, which were the highlight of the competition.
The Bank's continuous support to sports-related activities was further showcased when it sponsored 18 Gulf English School students on a trip of a lifetime to Madrid where they had the opportunity to meet and practice with the superstars of the world famous Real Madrid football team. Other sporting sponsorships from the Bank involved support for Kuwait’s champion fencing sisters Lulwa and Balsam Al Ayoub, the fourth Filipino Badminton Tournament in Kuwait, as well as supporting its employee Abdullah Al Beloushi, to succeed as a qualified international boxing referee.
