Gulf Bank Recognizes Artistic Talents of Special Needs Education Students
Kuwait – June 17 2008: Gulf Bank has rewarded the artistic talent of a number of special needs students in Kuwait with prizes for 28 students who participated in an Eid Al Fitr Cards Design. Every participating student received KD 100 and the students behind the best 7 designs each received KD 250 to reward their unique talents and skills.
The top 7 designs have been chosen for the Eid Al Fitr cards that will be distributed by Gulf Bank later this year. All participants received individual trophies in addition to the cash prizes handed out at a ceremony held at the Special Needs Education Department auditorium.
“The card design programme was the latest in a series of initiatives by Gulf Bank to actively support all kinds of education in Kuwait,” said Fawzy Althunayan, Gulf Bank’s General Manager of Board Affairs. “At Gulf Bank, we are devoted to supporting all aspects of the community and this includes special education schools.”
Recent educational initiatives by the Bank include support to Al Rajaa School for Boys, organizing a tour at Gulf Bank’s Hawalli branch for the Al Noor & Amal School for the Blind and Deaf, as well as supporting a number of educational activities organized by the Schools for Special Education in Kuwait. During the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Bank extends its support through a number of children’s activities, including presenting Girgi’an gift bags to children in hospitals and children in need.
