Gulf Bank Awards KD 5000 Prize to Winning Injaz Kuwait Student Company
Kuwait – June 26 2008: Gulf Bank has awarded a KD 5000 prize to the W3 Company, winner of the Injaz Kuwait “Battle of the Best” 2008 competition for student companies with support directed from the Bank’s Red Program.
The W3 Company, emerging from the American School of Kuwait, focused on collecting various types of electronics, which are either fixed or sold directly, depending on their condition. The aim of the company resides with the idea that although there are numerous workshops that specialize in fixing electronics, there is not sufficient awareness regarding the recycled and repaired products, which ultimately could be attained at much cheaper prices.
The “Battle of the Best” competition is an annual event organized by Injaz in Kuwait that attracted students from 27 Kuwaiti schools this year. The students set up their own companies and have been marketing their products under the guidance of expert and professional volunteers provided by Injaz Kuwait, a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of young business talent.
Gulf Bank’s Red program has been one of the leading supporters and contributors to Injaz’s ‘Battle of the Best’ competition, helping students foster their talent and allowing them to create their own companies and present their success to a panel of independent judges. The Bank is committed to helping support the development of professional business skills by young talented Kuwaitis and give them the platform to become the successful entrepreneurs of the future.
Red is the leading program for university and college students in Kuwait, offering a host of exciting prizes and exclusive discounts, and this competition was wholly appropriate to direct the Bank’s ongoing support to Injaz Kuwait and help them create business leaders of tomorrow.
Gulf Bank is Injaz Kuwait’s sponsor for the third consecutive year, proving its commitment to developing business oriented skills for Kuwait’s future generation. Gulf Bank has supported Injaz Kuwait in other competitions such as the Regional Competition 2008 in Muscat, Oman and the International Enterprising Forum (FIE) 2008 in Cordoba, Argentina.
