Shareholders and Regulators

Gulf Bank has won widespread acknowledgement from the Central Bank of Kuwait and from our industry for the timeliness and transparency of our financial disclosures. Our corporate governance and risk management policies have been established to help protect the interests of investors and Kuwait’s financial community.

Customers

We strive to behave with fairness and respect towards our customers. We listen closely to our customers and we attempt to respond genuinely to their feedback. Research commissioned by Gulf Bank in 2006 showed a marked improvement in the level of customer satisfaction of our complaints handling procedures.

 

Our customer-facing staff receive extensive training in addressing customer needs and in offering and explaining the most appropriate services and products. In 2006, Gulf Bank outperformed regional banking industry norms in the key customer satisfaction measures of staff friendliness and knowledgeability.

Staff

We are proud of our achievements in staff recruitment, training and career development and we are continually challenging ourselves to set even higher standards. In 2006, Gulf Bank won the GCC Localization Award for the second year in a row and became the first company in Kuwait to win a Stevie © International Business Award, in recognition of the Bank’s HR team.

 

Our summer internship program gave students practical experience in the banking industry while our training programme continued to enhance the skills and qualifications of existing employees. Staff training is a central part of our commitment to the development of Kuwait’s human capital.

Community

Gulf Bank is an active corporate supporter of educational, medical, artistic and sporting initiatives in the community. This support benefits Kuwait and enables the Bank to give back to our community. A full list of our contributions is detailed later in this report.

The Environment

Gulf Bank is paying increasing attention to the environmental impact of our business decisions to ensure that we grow in a sustainable way. The environment is considered in the construction and fit-out of our offices and branches with as much designated Green Area for each branch, the re-use and recycling of materials and in our total energy consumption. We want to play our part in keeping Kuwait’s environment as clean as possible.
