  • Gulf Bank is extending the installments of Consumer Loans (including installment loans) and Credit Cards for six months for all Gulf Bank customers.

Credit Cards

  • All Cardholders will be allowed to SKIP Payment due to the exceptional economic situation resulting from COVID-19 outbreak whereby their Credit Card installments will be postponed for 6 months till 30th September including Kuwaitis, expat and non-Kuwaitis.

  • No interest during this period.

  • All annual fees, replacement fees, cash advance fees , etc. will be charged as normal.

  • All customers with valid Credit Cards (8.33% payment) as of 31st March, 2020.

  • Current Credit Cardholders only – (Newly issued Credit Cards after 31st March are not included).

  • Charge Cards (with full payment of 100% ) will not be included.

  • All delinquent customers will not be charged for late payment fees or any interest during the skip payment period, however the bank will continue hunting for any due amount generated in March statements.

  • The SKIP Payment will start from cycle of April 2020 till 30th September 2020, and the direct debit payments will be deducted normally starting from the next cycle of October 2020.

  • Any amounts due prior to the statement generated in March will be debited from customers account normally. ( i.e for statement generated in March 15 , the due date is 10th April and system will continue hunting for these due amounts even after 10th April).

  • All individual credit cards only (Charge cards are not included).

  • Monthly interest and late payment fees will not be calculated and will be waived during the SKIP Payment period from 1st April 2020 till 30th September 2020.

  • Monthly interest & late payment fees will be waived for all valid Cards including staff, Current & Delinquent during the payment holiday period.

  • Since no due amount will be calculated, the Ci-net reporting for the customers will be stopped during the SKIP Payment period.

  • Yes, customers with easy payment plans will be included in the SKIP Payment period.

  • For customers with easy payment plan, the payment will not be collected during the SKIP Payment period. Once the period is over, the payment deduction will occur as normal and separate easy payment plan will be created so that the system will charge these uncollected Easy pay installments over the subsequent 6 months.

  • Yes, your annual card fee will be billed as normal, however this amount doesn’t need to be paid during the payment holiday.

  • Yes, these fees will be charged as normal.

  • The minimum due for credit cards will be as per the customers selected repayment % for their balance due in October.

  • Yes.

  • Interest fees and late fees.

  • All transactions that occur before or during the deferral period will be included.

  • No as your monthly installment is deferred until October.

  • If you do not wish to take the payment holiday, please contact our call center 1805805.

  • No – This is a one off.

  • No – This is only applicable for card up to 31st March.

  • No because the payment holiday starts from April.

  • All cards which have been billed in march, the deduction will happen until we collect the march due amount.


  • No, all interest and fees arising from this extension decision are waived.

  • No, all Gulf Bank customers, Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis, are eligible.

  • All loans deposited into customers’ accounts before 24th March 2020.

  • All eligible customers’ accounts are updated with the mentioned six-months loan installment extension . However, if you want to resume installing, you should activate this online; either through Online Banking, Gulf Bank mobile banking app, or our call center 1805805.

  • No, it’s optional and if the customer wants to resume installing his or her loan or credit card, he or she should activate this online; either through Online Banking, Gulf Bank Mobile banking, or our call center 1805805.

  • Yes you can, by visiting our branches or call gulf bank cal center 1805805.

  • No, interest rates and monthly installments change every five years for installment loans, as stated on the contract and payment schedule.

  • Yes.

  • Yes, customers may choose to settle their loans as per the Bank’s regular procedures.

  • Yes, customers may choose to partially settle their loans as per the Bank’s regular procedures.

  • No.

  • Yes.

  • You are eligible for the extension of loan payments for six months and If the amount is transferred into your Gulf Bank Account, the amount will be available for your usage.

  • Yes. But only past dues will be taken.

  • From 1st April 2020 to 30th September 2020.

  • Yes and according to the agreement and terms of the contract.

  • For deferrals that started before April 2020: no refunds.

  • For deferrals that started in April 2020 and onwards: fees already refunded to customer’s account.

  • The installments have already been credited to our customer’s accounts. In case the amount has not been deposited, please visit any of our branches or calling Gulf Bank’s Call Center on 1805805.
