Gulf Bank holds Graduation Party for Summer Interns

Kuwait, September 18, 2006:   Gulf Bank hosted a graduation party at Nino restaurant today for 150 students who successfully completed their summer internship with the Bank.

"We were extremely pleased to have these students join Gulf Bank as summer interns," said Mr. Surour Alsamerai, General Manager, Human Resources. "They gained valuable work experience while helping out in key areas of the Bank's operations.

"The students impressed us with their enthusiasm and desire to learn new skills. They really earned today's graduation celebration. We hope that some of our interns will consider a rewarding career in banking with Gulf Bank."

Gulf Bank's Summer Intern Programme is organized in conjunction with the Manpower Government Restructuring Programme, Loyac, Gust, American University of Kuwait, Australian College of Kuwait, Kuwait University and Kuwait International English School.

Involving predominantly Kuwaiti students, the summer internships are an integral part of Gulf Bank's localization efforts. During the month-long programme, each intern was placed in one of the Bank's departments to gain practical experience, in-house training and development, cultural interaction, and financial and banking experience.

Although interns were assigned to one department for the summer, they had frequent opportunities to collaborate with other interns and employees around the Bank. Students learned about the Bank's operating style, products and services and the importance of customer service.
