Gulf Bank Wraps Up Employee Vaccination Campaign, with 84% of Staff Vaccinated

In cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Gulf Bank concludes staff vaccination campaign at the Gulf Bank Training Center in Crystal Tower

Kuwait, 04 July 2021: Gulf Bank has announced it has vaccinated 84% of its 1,834 employees against the novel coronavirus, with staff members across all departments at the Bank having now received the COVID-19 vaccine. Gulf Bank achieved this milestone after successfully wrapping up an internal staff vaccination campaign launched in partnership with the Ministry of Health, in the interest of the collective safety of the Bank’s employees and customers.

During the course of the campaign, which took place last Sunday, June 27 from 8 AM to 11 AM, a total of 220 employees who registered for the vaccine were vaccinated at the Bank’s state-of-the-art training center, located on the 34th floor of Crystal Tower in Kuwait City. As of date, a total of 922 employees have now received the first dose of the vaccine, while 615 employees have completed their vaccinations with both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines.

Commenting on the staff vaccination campaign, Gulf Bank’s General Manager of Human Resources, Ms. Salma Al-Hajjaj, said: “Our employees are the cornerstone of Gulf Bank. In light of the health challenges that the whole world is experiencing, and with the availability of COVID-19 vaccines in the country, we knew it was imperative that we protect our employees to ensure their safety, their families’ safety, and the safety of our customers. That is why we have spared no effort in cooperating with the Ministry of Health, who we would like to thank for their swift response in providing the necessary vaccines. We would also like to thank the medical team at the Gulf Bank Training Center for their efforts in vaccinating our employees. We would also like to take this occasion to stress the importance of getting vaccinated for the few remaining employees who have not yet received the vaccination (either due to health reasons or other obstacles) to prioritize getting vaccinated as soon as possible, in order to ensure their safety and the safety of all our employees.”

Gulf Bank is committed to applying the best preventive health measures to ensure the collective safety of both its clients and staff. During the first stages of returning to normal life, Gulf Bank was keen to ensure business continuity while implementing a set of initiatives that prioritized both employees’ physical and mental wellbeing, and included several staff wellness programs, the periodic sterilization of the Bank’s branches, implementation of social distancing measures, and regular reminders for customers and employees to wear masks at all times. To encourage a culture of social distancing and to raise more awareness about social distancing, Gulf Bank also placed multiple signs and banners across its branches indicating the number of people allowed in any given space.
