Gulf Bank Launches its First "Datathon" Competition For Digital Data and Analytics Enthusiasts

As part of its efforts to support the digital transformation process in Kuwait

 

 

  • Mai Al-Owaish: The Datathon competition is open to everyone aged 18 years and above, and winners will receive cash prizes.

 

Kuwait, 16 May 2022: As part of its efforts to support digital transformation and achieve the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035, Gulf Bank will launch its first “Datathon” competition which will be open to all digital data and analytics enthusiasts aged 18 years and above. The Datathon is set to take place over a two-day period, from May 27-28.

 

The winners of the competition will receive financial rewards worth KD 1000 in the "Data Modeling and Visualization" category, KD 500 in the "Data Visualization" category, and KD 500 in the "Digital Analytics" category.

 

In this regard, the Head of the Digital Transformation & Innovation Unit at Gulf Bank, Mai Al-Owaish, said: "This event will enhance and disseminate data culture in the digital community – from data analysts to application developers, e-commerce professionals, web authors, and all types of digital content creators.”

 

She pointed out that the Bank aims to educate and enhance participants' knowledge of data visualization and the latest digital analytics techniques, which is why Gulf Bank is encouraging all members of the community to participate, with the only requirement for participation being participants' interest in learning more about data and digital technologies.

 

New Technologies

 

She added: "At Gulf Bank, we believe that providing a datathon competition will encourage more people to innovate digitally, enabling participants to experiment with modern technologies and techniques to provide the best digital expertise to Kuwaiti society.”

 

She noted also that the public has the opportunity to attend three free training workshops hosted by data experts at Gulf Bank. The workshops will focus on data science, web and app analytics, , and the latest data visualization techniques. Participants can attend one or more workshops and apply what they have learned in the competition.
