Gulf Bank is the Largest Employer at Career Fair for People with Special Needs

In support of the ''Partners in their Employment'' campaign

Kuwait, 23 June 2022: As part of its continuous efforts to support people with special needs, Gulf Bank participated in the Career Fair for People with Special Needs, meeting with graduates of the “Partners in their Employment” campaign. The campaign was organized by the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs, in partnership with the Human Construction Institute and the Youth Public Authority. The career fair was held with the aim of gathering recent graduates (who graduated in 2020/2021) with various entities — led by the banking sector — coming together to support their employment.

 

The Bank also participated in the graduation ceremony celebrating the second and third batch of graduates. The ceremony was held under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, who honored several organizations and associations supporting people with special needs.

 

Gulf Bank's General Manager of Human Resources, Ms. Salma Al Hajjaj, said: “Gulf Bank's participation in the Career Fair for People with Special Needs is part of a comprehensive strategy to support young Kuwaiti talent and to work continuously to develop their skills and capabilities.” Al-Hajjaj announced that Gulf Bank recruited 13 graduates in support of the "Partners in their Employment" campaign, making the Bank one of the largest employers at the career fair.

 

As part of Gulf Bank’s ongoing strategy to consolidate its position as the Kuwaiti Bank of the Future, and as part of its five-year strategy, the Bank is keen to attract young talents from various fields, including hires with special needs.

 

Al-Hajjaj stated that empowering women, youth and people with special needs is a major focus of Gulf Bank's approach to implementing its sustainability program, pointing out that the Bank pays special attention to minority groups, implementing deliberate plans for their financial inclusion and employment.

 

She added, "During the career fair, we were pleased to receive a large number of applications from our colleagues with special needs. Our colleagues have unique talents and capabilities, and Gulf Bank remains as keen as ever in assisting them with finding the most optimal line of work and engaging them in the banking sector.”

 

She emphasized Gulf Bank's keenness to benefit from the practical experiences and talents of people with special needs, providing them with suitable job opportunities and helping them find their place in the banking sector.

 

She stated that Gulf Bank continues to prioritize the employment of people with special needs in society and the labor market as part of the Bank’s human resources & sustainability goals. Al-Hajjaj stressed the Bank's commitment to providing job opportunities for young Kuwaiti talents with special needs, as part of its continuous efforts to achieve its 2025 strategy which aims to consolidate the position of Gulf Bank as the Kuwaiti Bank of the Future.

 

Al-Hajjaj affirmed the Bank’s keenness to support the “New Kuwait” 2035 vision, which aims to develop and upskill Kuwaiti youth as part of its strategy of increasing employment in the private sector. Gulf Bank’s progress is reflected in the growing rates of employment of Kuwaitis in recent years.
