Gulf Bank Distributes 400 School Bags to Children from Underprivileged Families

As Part of Its “Back to School” Campaign

Kuwait City, 7 September 2026 – For the third consecutive year, and in celebration of the start of the new academic year, Gulf Bank distributed 400 school bags equipped with all essential school supplies to students from underprivileged families. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Basta and Manara Volunteering Team initiatives, with active participation from Gulf Bank’s employee volunteer team, Sawaed Al Khaleej.

This initiative forms part of the Bank’s annual “Back to School” campaign, which includes a range of activities and programs designed to support students and facilitate their return to the classroom following an extended period of remote learning resulting from geopolitical developments.

Gulf Bank’s collaboration with the Basta initiative this year also coincides with the celebration of International Charity Day, observed on 5 September each year. Through this initiative, the Bank reaffirms the values of generosity, solidarity, and community support, while recognizing the invaluable efforts of volunteers around the world. It also aims to inspire young people and future generations to engage in humanitarian and volunteer work and to embrace volunteering as a culture that contributes to building a more connected and harmonious society.

As part of its commitment to fostering social sustainability, Gulf Bank actively participates in a variety of community initiatives throughout the year, with the goal of bringing joy to underprivileged families and encouraging students to continue their educational journey with confidence and motivation.

In addition, Gulf Bank provides annual support to students and parents who hold the Bank’s credit and prepaid cards through exclusive offers and discounts on school supplies in partnership with leading retailers across Kuwait. The Bank also offers a range of banking solutions tailored to support educational and savings goals, including educational loans and diverse savings accounts that promote a culture of saving, including the neo Kids Account.

Gulf Bank remains committed to advancing sustainability programs and initiatives across all levels by launching carefully selected projects that create shared value for both the Bank and the wider community. These efforts align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Kuwait’s New Kuwait 2035 Vision.
