In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, Gulf Bank organized a beach cleanup campaign at Blajat Beach in collaboration with the Touristic Enterprises Company. Held to mark World Cleanup Day, observed annually on 20 September, the initiative brought together volunteers from Gulf Bank customers and employees.

Participants collected litter and other waste from the beach, contributing to efforts to reduce pollution and protect Kuwait’s marine environment. The campaign also sought to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources while promoting volunteerism, shared responsibility, and active community participation.

World Cleanup Day is among the world’s largest environmental volunteer initiatives, mobilizing millions of individuals and organizations to address the global waste challenge and encourage more sustainable practices. Its designation as an official United Nations international day underscores the importance of coordinated action in building cleaner, more sustainable communities.

The campaign forms part of Gulf Bank’s broader approach to integrating sustainability across its operations and community initiatives. Recognizing that environmental protection requires collaboration between institutions and individuals, the Bank continues to support programs that strengthen environmental awareness and encourage responsible practices for future generations.

The initiative also supports the State of Kuwait’s sustainable development priorities by advancing environmental protection and strengthening community partnerships aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the long-term well-being of Kuwaiti society.
