Gulf Bank Strengthens Its Commitment to Women’s Health During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Awareness initiatives and healthcare offers reinforce the Bank’s longstanding focus on social responsibility and women’s empowerment
Gulf Bank is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with initiatives that encourage early detection and support women’s physical and mental wellbeing. Part of the Bank’s ongoing corporate social responsibility program, the initiatives reflect its conviction that women’s health is fundamental to their empowerment and to the wellbeing of the wider community.
Women’s empowerment is a core priority for Gulf Bank. Alongside supporting women’s professional development and leadership, the Bank recognizes the importance of helping women make informed decisions about their health. Its October initiatives combine public awareness with practical offers intended to make healthcare and wellbeing services more accessible to eligible customers.
As a visible expression of this commitment, Gulf Bank has illuminated its headquarters in pink, standing in solidarity with people affected by breast cancer and their families. The illumination carries a practical message: make time for your health, seek reliable information and speak to a healthcare professional about the checks appropriate for you.
Consistent with international guidance, the Bank’s awareness message emphasizes recognizing changes in breast health, seeking prompt medical advice and discussing screening based on individual age and risk. Early detection, followed by timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment, can improve outcomes and save lives. Women who notice a new lump or other unusual change should seek medical advice rather than wait for a routine screening appointment.
Gulf Bank’s involvement builds on years of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Previous initiatives have included a community walkathon and awareness session at Al Shaheed Park, healthcare offers for customers, and complimentary health checks for female employees, with further examinations where medically recommended. This sustained participation reflects the Bank’s approach to social responsibility through education, community engagement and practical support.
This year’s initiatives include exclusive offers for female customers holding Gulf Bank credit and prepaid cards. Offers at Kuwait Hospital are available until 31 October 2026. Customers can also benefit from a 20% discount on all medical examinations at IMAGES Centre and a 20% discount on all monthly meal subscriptions through the Approved Life app, both available until 31 December 2026. Additional offers through Areeka, available until 30 November 2026, support mental wellbeing.
Together, these offers support a broader approach to women’s wellbeing, covering medical care, nutrition and mental health. The Bank encourages eligible customers to consult qualified healthcare professionals when choosing medical examinations and to review the applicable terms and conditions of each offer.
The initiatives sit within Gulf Bank’s wider commitment to community wellbeing and women’s empowerment, including its Women of Wisdom program, which supports female employees’ personal growth and leadership development. By connecting health awareness with opportunities for women to thrive, the Bank reinforces the role of responsible businesses in supporting a more inclusive society.
These efforts support the aims of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 on Good Health and Wellbeing and Goal 5 on Gender Equality, and Kuwait’s vision for human development and improved quality of life. Gulf Bank continues to encourage women, families and the wider community to make health a year-round priority, carrying the message of Breast Cancer Awareness Month beyond October.
